Patent Overview
There are five issued Personal Audio U.S. patents all derived from a patent disclosure filed in October of 1996. The patents describe a series of innovations designed to allow consumers to have a personalized audio experience using an audio-enabled device connected to the Internet. These innovations are enjoyed by users of today’s smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, and other devices when listening to music organized by downloaded playlists as described in the two Personal Audio Playlist Patents.
In addition to device manufacturers, many podcast publishers also employ the Personal Audio invention described in the Podcasting patent.
